该片是根据经典爆笑话剧《狂恋高跟鞋》改编 ，是一部都市淘金记。主人公马路和肥猫是一对儿患难兄弟。他们离开家乡来到城市，为了寻求美好的梦想 。然而 ，城里的花花世界并不是他们简简单单的头脑所能够理解的 。哥俩儿终日盘算着如何挣钱 ，做了许多啼笑皆非的事。他们租了一间地下室，透过小小的窗口 ，马路每天都能看见一双美丽的“红色高跟鞋”——一个喜欢跳舞的女孩儿——经过。然而，他始终没有机会看清女孩儿的样子。
